In 2007, the City of Roanoke adopted a streets design guide approved by the Planning Commission. These design guidelines, in addition to the City’s “Complete Streets Policy” were recognized by the National Complete Streets Coalition of Smart Growth America. By adopting the policy, the City is committed to improving streetscapes by developing streets that safely accommodate users of all ages and abilities.
