City Website Redesign Feedback

Project Background

Before 2020, the City’s website www.roanokeva.gov will be redesigned and we want to include the community in that process. In Fall, 2018, we surveyed citizens to get feedback and ideas. The City’s latest web design was launched in 2015 and was developed by CivicPlus.

Here’s what the data tells us:

What are respondents looking for most when they visit roanokeva.gov? Survey respondents predominantly searched for Events, Solid Waste Collection Information, Paying Taxes or Bills, and News Releases.

Where should we focus our efforts to improve the website? Respondents ranked the City’s overall website design and aesthetics as 55 / 100. Similarly, respondents rated the site’s user-friendliness and accessibility as 59 / 100, and mobile-friendliness as 49 / 100.

Where we go from here…

The next step is to continue with the redesign project, assemble user testing groups, comb through old content and files, and launch a new site by the end of 2019.

If you have any questions about this project, please contact Whitney Slightham, Citizen Engagement Officer, at whitney.slightham@roanokeva.gov or 540-853-6428.
